Week Calendar

(Ages 2-7)  Join us in the Bach Garden for a fun family storytime with songs and movement.  Stay after the storytime to play in the garden.  In case of rain we will move inside.

[Ages 1-4] Come join Gruff the friendly storytime monster and his human librarian side-kick for fun stories, silly songs, and dancing. Bring your energy and your little one and get all the wiggles out! 

[2-5] Come on down to the historic Howe Branch of the Albany Public library for Stories, Songs, Dancing, Playtime and Crafts!

[Ages 0-24 months] Join us for fun songs and short books to introduce your baby to storytime! We will meet in the community room, and babies and their caregivers are welcome to stay and play after storytime.

[For ages 0-8 and their caregivers.] Bring your blankets or chairs, and join us in Washington Park for stories, fingerplays, songs, and rhymes!

[For Ages 0-5] Join us for stories, songs, and movement activities. Bring the whole family and enjoy Saturday at the library!

[For ages 0-5] Calling all parents, care-givers, and day-care providers! Bring your babies and toddlers for a fun half hour of stories, rhymes, and songs! 

[Ages 6+] APL and the Center for Law and Justice are proud to present a summer series of cinematic joy, followed by community conversation led by the Center for Law and Justice. 

[Ages 5-11] Give some new life to some old book pages through crafts! We've got plenty of clipped pages from old or damaged books featuring Disney, superheroes, Elephant & Piggie, and more. Make them into a collage, or even a button!

[Ages 5 - 17] What can you do with a teeny tiny sand art bottle? Turn it into a necklace! Come make colorful jewelry to take home with you when you're done!

[Ages 5-17] Join us at the Delaware Branch as we build dinosaurs out of blocks borrowed from the Upper Hudson Library System! No registration necessary.

[For ages 5-14] Calling all little Makers! Along with access to all of the Albany Made Lab equipment, Mini Makers will be able to use some of our favorite Youth Services gadgets and tools.

Learning through play! Playdough playtime is a sensory learning experience for your young child. Kids will learn letters, shapes, numbers, and more while developing their fine motor skills and having fun in the process!

Join us every Tuesday all summer for crafts and fun at Arbor Hill West Hill!

[Ages 7-13] Learn about forensic science and how evolving technology helps scientists and detectives discover the truth about mysterious criminal cases with MiSci.

(Ages 5 and Up)  Come learn balloon twisting with Balloon Gal Jenny!   Learn a new skill and bring home a balloon pet. 

[Ages 4+] Come take our LEGO challenge and solve a simple engineering problem in the first half hour. Then, use your imagination and free play with our LEGO sets for the second half of the program. This is a drop-in program.

[Ages 9-17] Hang out at the library and play Switch games with your friends!

[All Ages] Bring the family and join John and Heidi Kowalchyk for a night of drumming!  Play together, boost your energy, and give yourself an emotional release and healing through a rhythmic message.

[For ages 6-14] Minecraft beginners and experts: come build your world and characters in a weekly Minecraft competition with your friends at the APL Washington Ave. Branch.
