Event Details
[For Adults] Join us as we explore one of the oldest photographic processes, the cyanotype (sun print). The cyanotype process uses a mixture of iron compounds, which when exposed to UV light and washed in water, oxidize to create a beautiful Prussian blue image.
In this program we will provide participants with found objects like flowers, plants, or other common 2D items. You 'll create a composition of objects on paper and then we'll expose them to light to create unique images. We will cover the basics of creating a print - from applying materials to pre-treated paper, to exposure and development. Participants are welcome to bring objects with them on the day, but it is not required.
Images may take a couple hours to develop and dry, and can be picked up later at the Pine Hills Branch. Registration Required.
