An educational and participatory Dance Workshop for children, young adults and adults. Participants will learn about dances and the timeless costume/dress worn for performing cultural dances.
Omonike Akinyemi, Dancer/Choreographer/Filmmaker will show excerpts from her Afro-Cuban dance film project and teach African and Afro-Cuban Dance.
Master Drummers Howard Underwood and John Dickson will gather for a drum circle with workshop participants.
In partnership with ArtPartners/Tsehaya & Company, a community-based professional dance training program located in Albany's West Hill neighborhood.
