[Ages 18+] Are you into movies? Perhaps you enjoy cult classics! Welcome to:

Cinemania!

It's like a book, but faster.

And yes, the movie will be projected on a massive 10-by-6-foot silver screen, because big screens are for big dreams.

To celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, our film is from Japan, Metropolis (2001), Directed by Rintarô (Final Fantasy, Astro Boy, Galaxy Express 999)

Rintaro’s animated adaptation retells the classic story from Frit Lang’s 1927 classic film “Metropolis”. We follow a young detective named Rock who uncovers a conspiracy involving a mysterious “Robot Girl” created by the brilliant scientist Dr. Laughton. As social tensions rise between the privileged upper levels and the oppressed workers below, Rock must navigate intrigue, betrayal, and the question of what truly makes someone human.

Join us at the Pine Hills Branch as we revisit some of the coolest cult movies ever produced. We will enjoy the weird, the strange and (sometimes) the poorly made films that we all love so much!"
