Program Description

Event Details

[All Ages] Celebrate 200 Years on the Erie Canal in its Bicentennial Year! Dive into the Erie Canal (careful, it was only four feet deep!) and marvel at the challenges in building it, the way of life it produced, the art it inspired, and how it transformed the Empire State and the nation. Join Sandy Schuman in one of his illustrated New York Tales, the lesser-known stories from New York's history. “Some of New York State’s folklore is truly unbelievable. Some of its history is even more so.” For this program Sandy will focus on the Erie Canal to celebrate its 200th anniversary. Light refreshments will be offered. Registration is recommended so we can know how many people to expect. Call the library at 518-427-4300 ext. 4 to register, or register online.
