Celebrate Martin Luther King Day with four hands on art sessions:

Poetry Writing by local author Jillina Baxter drawing participant exercises from poets of the 60's civil rights movement.

Movement & Dance session led by Tsehaya D. Smith will focus on expressing ideas created from participants' moving poetry.

Participatory Drumming led by artists Maria Perez, Howard Underwood, and John Dickson will provide participants with hands on drumming experience.

Art Creation session with artist Shirley J. Clarke describes her artwork and the process for MLK rendering. 

Closing Spoken Words and Acapella Song by Dr. Bishop Judy Murphy-Black

In partnership with ArtPartners/Tsehaya & Company, a community-based professional dance training program located in Albany's West Hill neighborhood.
