Join Dr. Tammy Ellis-Robinson poet and managing editor of Skribblers Magazine Inc. for a three-part exploration of poetry. 

Explore poetry forms and creative expression. Building narrative poems, rhyming and free verse and short forms with an open mic celebration at the end.

You can attend one or all three of the workshop sessions. Registration is encouraged but not required. The series will change location and you may register for each occurrence. 

This series is presented in partnership with Skribblers Magazine. 

Session 1, 2-19-25 @ Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch

Celebrate the poetry of Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, Amanda Gorman, and Jamila Woods  and create your own narrative poems and cinquains.

Session 2, 3-19-25 @ Pine Hills Branch

Explore the voices of women in poetry Mary Oliver, Rupi Kaur, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and Adrienne Rich and create rhyming sonnets and short form free verse poems

Session 3, 4/16/25 @ Delaware Branch

Celebrate Poetry month with sonnets and acrostics. Be inspired by Shakespeare, Yeats and Edna St. Vincent Millay and try our your own snnet and write an acrostic. Round out the three part series with an open mic to share your poetry.
