[For Adults] When we talk about Albany’s literary legacy, most Albany residents turn to “Albany’s Son”, William Kennedy – and with good reason! Albany has played muse to Kennedy, including inspiring the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Ironweed. But Kennedy shares company with a litany of literary luminaries who found inspiration from the unassumingly fantastical Capital Region. Join Maeve McEneny-Johnson for a walking presentation to celebrate both the fact AND the fiction of Albany’s historic literary past. Along with William Kennedy, Maeve will discuss the local connections of Herman Melville, Henry James, Vladimir Nabokov, Charlayne Woodard…and more!
We will begin our Stroll in the Local History Room of Washington Ave, and then tour Center Square.
This program is offered in partnership with Discover Albany.
