2026 is the Year of the Horse! Celebrate Chinese New Year with a take & make horse craft. Bring home instructions on how to create your own paper horse. 

Calling all parents, care-givers, and day-care providers! Bring your babies and toddlers for a fun half hour of stories, rhymes, and songs! 

[For ages 5-14] Calling all little Makers! Along with access to all of the Albany Made Lab equipment, Mini Makers will be able to use some of our favorite Youth Services gadgets and tools.

[Ages 1-4] Come join Gruff the friendly storytime monster and his human librarian side-kick for fun stories, silly songs, and dancing. Bring your energy and your little one and get all the wiggles out! 

[2-5] Come on down to the historic Howe Branch of the Albany Public library for Stories, Songs, Dancing, Playtime and Crafts!

Love knows no bounds, even if it's last minute! Make a Valentine's Day card for your loved one: a partner, a parent, a pet, or yourself! Librarians will be on hand to help with card folding and flowery poetry.

[For Adults and Children Ages 6+] Calling all Artists, Crafters, Makers and Menders! Stop by the self-directed open hours and start (or finish) something!

[Ages 5-17] Kids love reading to Rocket, certified therapy dog.  Why?  Because he's soft, cuddly and a good listener.

Join us every Tuesday after school for crafts and fun at Arbor Hill West Hill!

[Ages 5-11] It's almost Valentine's Day! Come join us for an afternoon of crafting with hearts, doilies, and tons of red and pink paper to make something for those special someones in your life.

[For Ages 4-8] Become a member of our weekly book club! Parents will receive support and guidance on early literacy practices, including how to support their readers at home.
