[For Adults] Calling all Crafters and Art-Makers!

Have you ever heard of quilling? Quilling involves using strips of paper that are rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create different shapes, and glued together to create decorative designs.

[For ages 0-18 months] Please join us in our Youth Services Room for stories, fingerplays, songs, and rhymes for children ages 0 to 18 months and their caregiver.

Bring your device & your questions and we'll figure it out together. This is a one-on-one help session. Registration is required; call 518-427-4300, ext. 4 to register, or register online. Tech Help is offered every Monday. 

Come Join us at the Howe Branch or on Zoom to get some light movement in to start your week off right! Please Make sure to bring a water bottle, walking shoes and to wear comfortable clothing for movement i.e. Leggings and a tee shirt.

Come to Howe to make a lovely Mother's Day card to tell your mother or other caregiver in your life how much you care. Ask for the card base at the desk!

Calling all parents, care-givers, and day-care providers! Bring your babies and toddlers for a fun half hour of stories, rhymes, and songs! 

Recharge your spirit at our monthly creative art gathering designed for comfort and connection. it’s a stress-free sanctuary where the music is smooth, and the creativity flows at your own pace.

Learn how to express yourself clearly and imaginatively, share your work, and respond to the stories of others. Attend any or all sessions. Facilitated by Misty Yarnall. This program is online and conducted via Zoom.

Tulips are everywhere throughout Albany in May, as the popular Albany Tulip Festival approaches.

At the library, every day is Free Comic Book Day! Come create your own comic book and share it with your friends! Every comic artist can let their imagination run wild and can make up to 5 free copies of their finished comic book to share.

Join Capital Region Language Center instructor Josh Barmen to explore American Sign Language.

It's May the 4th! And if your kids are Star Wars fans, you know what we're getting at... Bring your child to the library to so they can make their very own lightsabers! Registration is necessary because supplies will be limited.

[Ages 13-17] Hang out with fellow teen artists every Monday after school and use art supplies to doodle, sketch, or make whatever kind of art you want! In addition, every week will feature examples from notable artists and artistic movements.

[For ages 5-14] Calling all little Makers! Along with access to all of the Albany Made Lab equipment, Mini Makers will be able to use some of our favorite Youth Services gadgets and tools.

Warm weather and fresh breezes are here! If your windows are still closed due to tears and holes in your screens, the City of Albany's Love Your Block program can help. 

Do you have what it take to be a Jedi young padawan? Then come to Howe and craft your own lightsaber, or color a coloring page of the Jedi masters or Sith lords!

[Adults] Read this month's mystery before our meeting and join us (virtually) for a lively discussion. The Book for May will be An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good by Helene Tursten.

[Ages 1-4] Come join Gruff the friendly storytime monster and his human librarian side-kick for fun stories, silly songs, and dancing. Bring your energy and your little one and get all the wiggles out! 

[Ages 2-5] Come on down to the historic Howe Branch of the Albany Public library for Stories, Songs, Dancing, Playtime and Crafts!
