[For ages 0-18 months] Please join us in our Youth Services Room for stories, fingerplays, songs and rhymes for children ages 0 to 18 months.

[Ages 2-7} Enjoy a family friendly storytime in the Bach Garden and then stay to play!  

Please bring a blanket to sit on.  The storytime will move inside if the weather is inclement.

[For Ages 2-4] Join us for an early morning story where we will sing, dance and socialize!

[Ages 2-5] Come on down to the historic Howe Branch of the Albany Public library for a read-along, sing-along Storytime.

[For adults] English as a new language can be challenging and there is always room for improvement.

[For ages 0-5 and their caregivers] Join us for a summer music storytime series where rhythm meets storytelling! Dive into tales filled with musical adventures.

[Ages 2-5] Join us for stories, songs & fun for preschoolers and their caregivers every week at the Delaware Branch. Walk-ins welcome. 

[Ages 0-24 months] Join Ms Melissa for fun songs and short books to introduce your baby to storytime! We will meet in the community room, and babies and their caregivers are welcome to stay and play after storytime.

Join us for this 4-week series where we will to learn a "new" card game each Thursday. Already a pro? Join us for weekday fun and conversation as we play some of our favorite card games. 

7/18: Canasta 

Bring your baby or toddler and let them dance until they can't dance anymore at our Let's Glow Dance Party!

[For ages 0-8 and their caregivers.] Please join us near the playground at Washington Park for stories, fingerplays, songs, and rhymes. 

[For ages 0-5] Join us for some weekend storytime fun. We'll be sharing stories, singing songs, learning new rhymes, and shaking our sillies out.

[Ages 3-8] Join us with Barbara Lukas from WMHT to enjoy the story of Rainbow Fish and the Big Blue Whale by Marcus Pfister and make some crafts to take home!

Registration is required as supplies and space are limited.

[For ages 2+ and their caregivers] Join us for stories and songs, nursery rhymes and folktales, as well as movement activities and finger plays.

[For ages 0-18 months] Join us for unstructured playtime with sensory blocks, cars, balls, and much more!

[Ages 0-5] Every week after preschool storytime-- stay & play! 

Let your little ones tap into their imaginations during this unstructured play time. Kids can play with our toy kitchen, blocks, dolls, train sets & more!

[For ages 18+] Are you a fiber crafter? Does your family have all the hand knitted or crocheted hats, scarves, mittens, or shawls that they could possibly use in this lifetime?

Work together in a team to see which group can complete their 500 piece puzzle the fastest. The winning team will have their team picture on APL social media AND free ice cream from Stewart's!

[For Teens] Not a Number is an interactive child trafficking and exploitation prevention curriculum designed to provide youth with information and skills in a manner that inspires them to make safe choices.

Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting, or needlecrafting? Is it a hobby that you enjoyed in the past and would like to get back to? You can bring a project that you’re working on, or one that you want to start. All skill levels are welcome!

Are you a Senior and bored at home? Stop by North Albany to play some board and card games with others. 

Snacks and Beverages will be provided.

Registrations are not required but encouraged for headcount.

[Ages 18+] Would you like to update or create a résumé? Having formatting nightmares? Need help tweaking or writing a cover letter? The Delaware Branch offers one-on-one sessions every Thursday between 1-2pm. 

[For Adults] Get started on the path to buying a home with this overview of the homebuying process, down payment programs, and what it takes to credit qualify for a mortgage.

[All Ages] Come sit, sip and play with board games, card games and puzzles.

Unleash your inner artist! Come sit and enjoy coloring, tea, and classical music. We will provide a variety of intricate coloring sheets, colored pencils, and crayons.

[Ages 8+] Come conduct some Egg-Xperiments & make some art outside in the yard of the Delaware Branch! While supplies last.  Rain date TBD.

Sewing repair assistance and learn to use a sewing machine with help from Stitching Exchange!

[Ages 6+ and their caregivers] Ever wondered why every rock looks different? Well, they all tell their own special story! Bring in one or two rocks from home and learn from a local geologist about how their stories shaped how they look today.

[All Ages] Come de-stress at the library by making your own sensory bottles, stress balls & more! The library will supply ideas and supplies--just come with your creativity!

[For ages 2-5] APL and Radix are Growing Readers! Join us in the sensory garden at Radix for storytime and fun in the garden.

[For Ages 11 to 17] A space welcoming all gamers 11 to 17 and all game types. We have board games to play, wi-fi for your DS battle, Xbox One and Switch on a big screen, and lots of tables and chairs to fit large-group games.

[Ages 5-15] Dreaming of having your selfie snapped near the Eiffel tower, posing by the Pyramids? Come on in to Bach and build them yourself! Follow a Lego Landmark card and build a wonder of the world.

[For ages 0-5] Calling all parents, care-givers, and day-care providers! Bring your babies and toddlers for a fun half hour of stories, rhymes, and songs! 

[For ages 11-17] Who's stronger, Goku, Naruto, or Sailor Moon? Watch and talk about anime while enjoying snacks at Washington Ave.

[Age 18+] Come talk and sample French cheeses form Honest Weight Food CO-OP  as we also watch the Summer Olympics together! 

[For Ages 13-17] Clash your favorite gaming icons in the ultimate showdown. Tweens and Teens are invited to bring their friends and play Super Smash. Come see if you are good enough to beat our library gamers!

[For ages 9-17] Play various video games including Smash Brothers, Tekken, Mariokart, NBA 2K22 on the Nintendo Switch, XBox or PS4 with your friends! 

Enjoy an hour of family fun and creativity at the Howe, Delaware and the North Albany Branches! Come and enjoy an Indian Classical Music performance by Veena and Devesh Chandra.

This is a special meeting of the Albany Public Library Board of Trustees to discuss the annual evaluation of the Executive Director.

Learn about the timeless art of Quilling.  Students will be shown how to complete a simple quilling project and will be taught skills that can be applied to other projects.

[Adults 18+] Gather your book-loving friends and reserve a table at our Book Tasting! During this readers' advisory program, the Pine Hills Branch meeting room will be transformed into a literary cafe for the evening.

[For ages 6-14] Minecraft beginners and experts: come build your world and characters in a weekly Minecraft competition with your friends at the APL Washington Ave. Branch.

Visit Bach in our garden to listen to the Organ Trio a trio led by percussionist Brian Melick performing a classic jazz format with jazz guitar and organ. Thanks to Music Performance Trust Fund.
