Week Calendar

(Ages 2-7)  Join us in the Bach Garden for a fun family storytime with songs and movement.  Stay after the storytime to play in the garden.  In case of rain we will move inside.

[For ages 0-8 and their caregivers.] Bring your blankets or chairs, and join us in Washington Park for stories, fingerplays, songs, and rhymes!

[For All Ages] Playstreets are safe spaces for families and kids to gather in the comfort of their own neighborhoods during the summer.

Come Join us at the Howe Branch  to get some light movement in to start your week off right! Please Make sure to bring a water bottle, walking shoes and to wear comfortable clothing for movement i.e. Leggings and a tee shirt.

[Ages 3-11] It's National Ice Cream Day! Celebrate with a scoop at the Bach Branch. We will have sundae supplies from Stewart's Shops and some fun crafts and activities.

[Ages 5-13] Make artistic "cat castles" from cardboard boxes. Be creative and make homes fit for the queen or king felines in your life. (*Disclaimer: you do not have to own a cat to participate in this program)

[For ages 5-14.] Come build your cat (or other small pet) a fun castle! We will use cardboard, duct tape, and tools from our Make-Do kit. All supplies provided. We can't wait to see your pet's new abode!

[For Teens] Not a Number is an interactive child trafficking and exploitation prevention curriculum designed to provide youth with information and skills in a manner that inspires them to make safe choices.

[Ages 12-17] Teens, come choose your favorite frozen fruits and make your own dairy-free ice cream in seconds! Or learn about new fruits you've never tried!

[Ages 5-17] It's time to do some Summer Sand Art! Registration is necessary, as supplies are limited; please call the library at 518-427-4300 ext. 4 to register, stop by our front desk, or register online. 

[For ages 3-11] Color Your World! Have you ever wondered why animals look the way they do?

You’re invited to join us online with award-winning author Rex Ogle as he talks to viewers about his struggles to navigate sixth grade as written about in his book Free Lunch. 

[Ages 3-7]  Pop into Bach for some parachute fun!  We will play with the big parachute and bean bags and have fun singing and dancing to music.

[For ages 9-17] Play various video games including Smash Brothers, Tekken, Mariokart, NBA 2K22 on the Nintendo Switch, XBox or PS4 with your friends! 

[Ages 6+] APL and the Center for Law and Justice are proud to present a family movie night experience, followed by community conversation led by the Center for Law and Justice. 

[For Adults] Join Discover Albany's Maeve McEneny-Johnson for a Gilded Age walking tour through Albany's historic Center Square.
