[For ages 0-18 months] Please join us in our Youth Services Room for stories, fingerplays, songs and rhymes for children ages 0 to 18 months.

[Ages 0-6 and their Caregivers]  Come to Bach for a fun and educational storytime full of silliness, singing and movement.  Then, stay to play!

[For Ages 2-4] Join us for an early morning story where we will sing, dance and socialize!

[Ages 2-5] Come on down to the historic Howe Branch of the Albany Public library for a read-along, sing-along Storytime.

[For adults] English as a new language can be challenging and there is always room for improvement.

[Ages 2-5] Join us for stories, songs & fun for preschoolers and their caregivers every week at the Delaware Branch. Walk-ins welcome. 

[Ages 0-24 months] Join Ms Melissa for fun songs and short books to introduce your baby to storytime! We will meet in the community room, and babies and their caregivers are welcome to stay and play after storytime.

[For ages 0-5 and their caregivers.] Have fun playing at the library with your family! We'll have our usual Play & Grow toys available along with special toys just for this weekly open-play program!

Join us in practicing the gentle, coordinated, and easy Tai Chi movements to improve your balance. Learning these safe, relaxed, and energizing practices will help you move more confidently in daily life.

[Ages 18+] Would you like to update or create a résumé? Need help tweaking or writing a cover letter? The Delaware Branch offers one-on-one sessions every Thursday between 12-1pm.

Women's Issues and the Arts is a group that will meets on the first and third Thursday each month, with the first meeting of the month being designated to special workshops.

[For Adults] Classes are provided to help students improve English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Classes are free to students age 21 year or older. 

[18+] Come have Coffee/ Tea and Donuts with us as we watch the movie of the month.

[Ages 5-12] Celebrate Albany's Tulip Festival by making a Spring watercolor painting!  Let your imagination tiptoe through the tulips or paint whatever strikes your fancy.

[For Ages 11 to 17] A space welcoming all gamers 11 to 17 and all game types. We have board games to play, wi-fi for your DS battle, Xbox One and Switch on a big screen, and lots of tables and chairs to fit large-group games.

[For ages 0-5] Calling all parents, care-givers, and day-care providers! Bring your babies and toddlers for a fun half hour of stories, rhymes, and songs! 

[Ages 4+] Use your imagination and free play with our Legos. This is a drop-in program. No registration required. This program recurs on the first Thursday of each month. 

[For Ages 7-14] Join us for a variety of activities including arts & crafts, cooking, science experiments, and MORE!

In 2024, the City has completed a reassessment of all real property values. These sessions will provide an opportunity to review Assessment records and file a complaint protesting  the proposed market value of property.

APL is joined by the Albany County Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center to present a book discussion of The Sewing Girl's Tale and as a bonus author John Wood Sweet will be Zooming in for a Q & A session!

[Ages 0-17 and their families] Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned enthusiast, we've got a beat for you! Immerse yourself in authentic West African drumming and dance with Jordan Taylor Hill.

[For ages 6-14] Minecraft beginners and experts: come build your world and characters in a weekly Minecraft competition with your friends at the APL Washington Ave. Branch.

[Ages 15+] Have you ever wanted to learn about flyer design? Do you have an event you want to advertise? Perhaps you just want a chance to create something to hang on your wall at home!

[Ages 2-7] Join us in your jammies for Pajama Storytime with Miss Melissa. We will read books, sing songs, and have lots of cozy fun!
